NLC is about more than competitions! There is something for everyone, but many engagement opportunities require pre-registration.
Business World (Powered by Wisconsin Business World)

Business World is a half-day immersive program where students practice building a business from the ground up. Students come up with a business plan including creating a new product, building a prototype, creating a marketing plan, and forming a budget. Students leave Business World with a better understanding of business principles, entrepreneurship, career opportunities, and the important role businesses play in our communities.

Certification Lab (Powered by MBA Research)

A*S*K certification is a critical tool for serious students of business who wish to document their understanding of key business skills, their willingness to be accountable for their learning, and their interest in positioning for employment and promotion. A*S*K certification exams are aligned with the learning outcomes most commonly addressed in business programs, while maintaining the rigor and focus appropriate for industry-driven certification. Certifications are comprehensive, challenging, and highly focused on real-world business expectations.
When: July 1st from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm (Test slots available from 1:30 pm-3:00 pm OR 3:00pm-4:30 pm)
How to Register: Interested attendees must pre-register for this opportunity in the conference registration system.
Middle School Certification Offered: Students who earn passing scores will receive a digital badge to share on their resumes, LinkedIn, and social media.

High School Certifications Offered: Students who earn passing scores will receive a digital certificate and digital badge to share on their resumes, LinkedIn, and social media.

How to Prepare: Use the links above to find additional resources including free ethics course packages from MBA Research. High school members can also complete the BAA Advocate Award: Understanding Ethics to prepare for the exam but please note that not all content covered by the exam is covered in this course.
Note for Advisers: The free materials above are designed for you to use in your classroom to help prepare students for this exam! Interested in learning more about the exam? Advisers are also invited to register to complete the exam at NLC.

Future Leaders Expo Hall Student Business Challenge
Calling All Student Entrepreneurs! Do you dream of showcasing your business at the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida? This is your chance! Twelve outstanding student businesses will be selected to exhibit in the prestigious Future Leaders Expo Hall, providing a platform to sell products and boost brand awareness.

Rules of Entry:
- Students must be active members of FBLA.
- Students must be registered attendees of the National Leadership Conference (NLC).
- Products being sold cannot include food, drinks, or skin products.

Sharing With a Purpose (SWAP)
Join us for Sharing With a Purpose (SWAP) – an interactive session by leaders, for leaders! This summer’s National Leadership Conference will feature the best ideas from around the country and across every division. This is truly an opportunity for both members and advisers to exchange ideas and learn from each other.
Interested in Presenting? Apply to become a presenter and showcase your innovative ideas to members and advisers from all corners of the country.
Your topic can originate from any aspect of the FBLA experience. Chapter activities, member engagement, recruitment, fundraising, advocacy, and officer development are just a few examples of the possible topic areas. However, don’t hesitate to explore other creative and unique ideas that align with the FBLA mission.
- Who should apply? Members and advisers from all three divisions are invited to apply.

Student Internships
Looking for experience to boost your resume? Want hands-on real-world experience? Simply interested in seeing the behind of the scenes of the NLC? Apply to be an NLC intern!
NEW in 2024: The NLC Internship Experience has been revamped to include two levels of interns.
Lead NLC Interns (Rising Seniors & Graduates Only): Full-Time Conference Interns
- Commitment: Students commit to 10 hours of prep-work prior to the NLC and working full-time at the conference (no more than 8 hours per day).
- Incentives: NLC registration fee waived and lunch provided each day. Students will also receive a certificate of appreciation and are eligible for a letter of recommendation from National Center Staff.
- Eligibility Requirements: Interns must be current FBLA members and chaperoned for the duration of the conference.
Daily NLC Interns
- Commitment: Must complete one-hour onboarding webinar prior to NLC and commit to working at-least one 8-hour shift.
- Incentives: Interns will receive lunch and a certificate of appreciation.
- Eligibility Requirements: Interns must be paid attendees of the conference and must be chaperoned for the duration of the conference.
