SCHOLARSHIPS
NATIONAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIP
The Collegiate National Leadership Conference (NLC) Scholarship is a program designed to help fund conference and travel-related costs for members to attend the NLC.
The NLC Scholarship includes a $500 check, plus a complimentary registration to the NLC ($195). Scholarship money must be used for conference and travel-related expenses. Up to 50 scholarships will be awarded each year.
Not sure if you’re attending NLC? Apply anyway! If you’re unable to attend, scholarship funds will be distributed to another applicant.
Requirements
Members who wish to be considered for a NLC Scholarship must:
- Be on record as having paid local, state, and national dues by April 15 of the current program year
- Submit an application and accompanying materials by 5:00 PM ET on April 15
Application Materials
Submit the application form and attach the following required materials no later than April 15:
- PDF of resume: Resume should outline the member’s involvement in FBLA. It should also highlight leadership positions held and awards received, both in FBLA and other organizations.
- PDF of signed letter of recommendation from the candidate’s local chapter adviser or an instructor at the applicant’s college that describes both the applicant’s financial need and how the attending the NLC would help them develop personally and professionally.
- PDF of a one-page essay, (double spaced, Times New Roman/Calibri, 12-point font) addressing the following prompt:
Share how attending the National Leadership Conference would benefit your personal and professional development and would not be possible without receiving this scholarship.
Timeline
Applicants who receive the scholarship will be notified by May 5.

FBLA Collegiate NLC Scholarship Guidelines
FBLA COLLEGIATE DISTINGUISHED BUSINESS LEADER SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is designed to recognize outstanding FBLA Collegiate members for their activity and involvement in the association. The number of scholarships given depends on yearly contributions to the FBLA Collegiate Distinguished Business Leader Scholarship fund.
Amount:
$500
Individual Award and Criteria Information:
- Open to FBLA Collegiate Members who plan to continue to pursue a postsecondary or postgraduate education.
- Must have at least one year left in college program of study to apply.
- Must be dues-paid members of FBLA Collegiate by April 15.
- Must have achieved the Gold or Silver level of the FBLA Collegiate Excellence Award.
- Must submit Distinguished Business Leader Scholarship Form:
- The completed application form.
- A one-page cover letter summarizing FBLA, business, leadership, and community activities.
- A resume outlining FBLA activities and educational achievements.
- One letter of recommendation from a chapter adviser, a teacher, or a business/community leader.
The 2024 application deadline is April 15 at 5:00 PM ET.
NATIONAL TECHNICAL HONOR SOCIETY (NTHS)
The National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) is pleased to continue our partnership with FBLA by helping to promote their mission, providing two scholarships to active FBLA members who are also current NTHS members in good standing, and providing funding for two FBLA National Conference events each year. NTHS awards over a quarter of a million dollars in scholarships to its members annually and has been the acknowledged leader in recognizing outstanding student achievement in CTE programs across the country for over 30 years. NTHS/FBLA members are also eligible to apply for the Jon H. Poteat Scholarship here.
Criteria:
- Applicants must be current, dues-paid members of both NTHS & FBLA
- Funds shall be paid directly to accredited education institutions, certificate organizations, continuing education and/or online programs.
- Application must include: Letter of recommendations from FBLA chapter adviser and NTHS adviser and 1-2 page resume detailing FBLA & NTHS involvement

DRESSED TO IMPRESS!
FBLA’s professional attire grant program for students
We are excited to announce the opening of the 2023-24 FBLA Dressed to Impress Applications! FBLA aims to provide business attire for up to three members in each state, one from each of the three student divisions: FBLA Middle School, FBLA High School, and FBLA Collegiate.
Eligibility:
- Open to all FBLA members in good standing.
- Must be dues-paid members by the application deadline.
- Applications must be submitted by October 15, at 11:59 PM ET.
Criteria & Application Information:
In order to complete the application in its entirety, FBLA Middle School and FBLA High School students must complete the application with an adviser. FBLA Collegiate students can choose to complete their application on their own or with the help of an adviser. All students must be in good membership standing.
