Reston, VA – November 17, 2025 – Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) announced today a new collaboration with the College Board and the National Business Education Association (NBEA) to help more students gain access to AP Business with Personal Finance, one of College Board’s new AP Career Kickstart™ courses.
Through this strategic partnership, FBLA members will have expanded opportunities to earn college credit and employer endorsed credentials while building essential business and financial literacy skills that prepare them for life after high school. FBLA advisers will also gain access to exclusive training and resources to help students prepare for the AP exam, apply for scholarships, and navigate college admissions.
AP Career Kickstart courses combine the decades of college-level rigor that AP is known for with industry-guided relevance and are designed to build valuable skills that prepare students for high-demand, high-wage careers. Students who complete the courses will be eligible to earn college credit and an employer-endorsed credential that opens doors for students interested in two- and four-year colleges, technical schools, apprenticeships, the military, or direct entry into the workforce.
“FBLA and College Board share a vision of preparing students with the knowledge and skills that today’s colleges and employers demand,” said Jennifer Woods, president and CEO of FBLA. “Through the launch of AP Business with Personal Finance, we are aligning rigorous academic coursework with FBLA’s career-connected programming—expanding opportunity for our members nationwide and strengthening the pipeline of future leaders.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with FBLA to bring AP Business with Personal Finance to even more students nationwide,” said Aanand Vasudevan, senior director of AP New Program Management at College Board. “FBLA’s deep commitment to career-connected learning and leadership development perfectly complements our goal of helping students gain both college credit and real-world business skills that will serve them for life.”
Educators and students are already seeing the benefits firsthand. “As a longtime FBLA adviser, I have always enjoyed connecting my curriculum with FBLA and all it has to offer our students,” said Jacob Avila, business teacher and FBLA adviser at Redwood High School in Visalia, California. “Having a class like AP Business with Personal Finance as something we can offer at Redwood will not only elevate our Business Management Pathway but our FBLA program. We are excited for this partnership and opportunity.”
Von Borowicz, a junior at Redwood High School and the vice president of membership and recruitment at their FBLA chapter, shares that FBLA has been a huge part of his high school career. “It has helped me grow as a leader and connected me with real-world experiences in my community,” Von said. “I am excited that this growth can continue with me taking AP Business with Personal Finance. I am in the field study this year with my teacher, and have enjoyed the experience so far.”
