Each February, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), celebrates nationally-recognized CTE month by hosting FBLA Week. This year, from February 8 to 14, over 200,000 FBLA members brought a surge of excitement and unity to FBLA chapters across the country. With hundreds of middle school, high school, and collegiate chapters participating, the week generated more than 1,000 Instagram posts showcasing service activities, chapter pride, leadership events, and spirited engagement with the week's national themes.
This year's lineup included Service Sunday, Make Your Mark Monday, Trailblazer Tuesday, Why Wednesday, Thankful Thursday, Finance Friday, and Spirit Saturday. Each day offered chapters a chance to highlight their work and share the many ways that FBLA empowers students to lead and succeed within their local communities.
Special recognition goes to Lisa Smothers, FBLA Director of Member Support & Operations, for her dedicated support in planning FBLA Week in collaboration with the 2026 FBLA National Officers. FBLA thanks all dedicated members, advisers, and local communities who not only officially recognized FBLA Week, but also contributed to daily activities.
Kick Off Event: Leadership and Service at Briar Woods High School
FBLA Week officially launched on Service Sunday, February 8, with a high-energy event co-hosted by the National Center and Briar Woods High School in Ashburn, Virginia. Led by Virginia FBLA State Officers Martin Tang, Kaitlyn Nichols, and Gavin Flynn, the kickoff brought together eight high schools for an afternoon dedicated to leadership and service.
Participants engaged in workshops on time management and service leadership, gaining skills they can apply throughout their FBLA journey. The day concluded with a meaningful Alzheimer's Mini-Walk, raising funds and awareness for the Alzheimer's Organization, FBLA's national service partner.
National Officers Take Center Stage
Midweek, the High School and Collegiate National Officer teams arrived at the FBLA National Center in Reston, Virginia, to continue the FBLA Week momentum. Their visit kicked off with leadership training workshops followed by a viewing party of the President's Forum. We applaud the efforts of the National Officers for scripting, filming, and producing this year's forum by themselves.
If you missed the President's Forum, you can watch the live recording here.
On Thankful Thursday, the National Officer Teams took their leadership to the national stage as they traveled to Capitol Hill to meet with members of Congress and their staff. Throughout the day, the officers visited multiple congressional offices, engaging in meaningful conversations about the critical importance of Career and Technical Education (CTE) in preparing today's students for tomorrow's workforce.
Armed with personal stories, chapter experiences, and data on the impact of CTE programs, the officers shared how FBLA has shaped their academic interests, career aspirations, and leadership skills. They spoke about the value of hands-on learning, industry-relevant coursework, and the unique opportunities CTE provides for students to explore fields such as business, finance, and entrepreneurship.
The officers emphasized that FBLA and other CTE programs do more than teach technical knowledge, they cultivate communication, skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and professional readiness that position students for lifelong success.
By the end of the day, the National Officers had not only advocated for expanded support of CTE, but also showcased the leadership, confidence, and professionalism that FBLA instills in its members. Their presence on Capitol Hill underscored the organization's commitment to empowering young people and influencing the future of education and workforce development.
A Strong Finish: Training, Reflection, and Celebration
On Finance Friday, members and advisers from the District of Columbia gathered for leadership training hosted by the High School National Officer Team. The session generated a lively discussion around new strategies to elevate their chapters and strengthen their FBLA experience.
Spirit Saturday brought the week to a celebratory close with a special highlights review, prepared by the National Officers. This final showcase recapped the impact displayed across the nation, giving members a chance to reflect on an unforgettable week.
FBLA Week 2026 demonstrated the three pillars that make up FBLA: Service, Education, and Progress. From chapter-wide celebrations to national-level advocacy, students once again proved that when they come together with purpose, they create lasting change.
