Oran FBLA hosts a career fair

Oran High School FBLA in Missouri hosted their annual Career Fair on Oct. 25. They invited local businesses to speak to the students about their careers. To find out the interests of the students a small survey was given out for the students to pick their top choices. The chapter set up four sessions and divided students between the 13 speakers. FBLA officers worked hard to make sure people got to attend the sessions they choose. The Career Fair involves a great deal of work to make it a success.

The theme chosen for this year was, When Your Future Calls: It’s A Jungle Out There. The keynote speaker was Ryan McClard from First Midwest Bank in Jackson. He spoke to the students about making the right choices and about listening to their teachers and parents for guidance. The first session began at 9:00 a.m. and the last session ended at 10:55 a.m. Sessions ranged from an FBI agent to a daycare owner, and there was something for everyone. A special session was held for seniors on personal finance. The students gathered into the gymnasium for the closing session at 11:10. For the closing session the FBLA officers decided to have the classes compete in Office Olympics. The Career Fair was a success this year and the Oran FBLA chapter will continue to have it throughout the years.
