FBLA members at Page County Technical Center in Virginia held their first annual "Dime War" to support the March of Dimes in November, 2007. Members created customized jugs for each career and technical program at the Technical Center to contribute money. The program that raised/contributed the most money during the "war" was offered a complimentary pizza party. After five days, the afternoon cosmetology program had raised the most money of all the programs at the Technical Center. A total of $60 was donated to the Harrisonburg, VA, branch of the March of Dimes. This is significant because it was the first time this activity was done by the chapter and they are part of a small technical center in a rural county. Members expect even greater success next year when this effort is repeated.
