Last year, Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy (SACA) FBLA donated over 600 new or slightly used coats and blankets to the Fox5/FedEx Project Overcoat drive, during the week of January 19-26, 2007.
The members of FedEx and Fox5 recognized our chapter for last year’s overwhelming donation by asking our FBLA officers to participate in this year’s kick-off drive during a live News Broadcast with Fox5 Meteorologist, Ken Cook.
The live interview took place at the main donation site for Project Overcoat on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. in the Brookhaven Kroger store in Atlanta. FBLA officers had an opportunity to meet the Fox5 crew, FedEx executives and the members of KISS 104.1 that were also present during the interview. Due to the success of the project, our chapter received a wonderful thank you letter along with a special FedEx care package for each FBLA officer.
