Brunswick High School Chapter Participates in Breakfast for Babies

Members of the Brunswick High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) came to better understand the age-old cliché, “The early bird catches the worm,” as they participated in the Breakfast for Babies fundraiser held at McDonald’s on Altama Avenue. Members were up before dawn and ready to roll at 5:45 a.m. as they hung banners in preparation to greet diners at the drive-thru and main entrances of the local McDonald’s restaurant. Kicking off the event at 6:00 a.m., students along with the Savannah Region Office representative and mom of the local ambassador family were able to collect almost $600 by 9:00 a.m. The bounty collected from the patrons were donated to the Savannah, Georgia, regional office of March of Dimes. The generosity of the early morning patrons brought great excitement to the members as some of them dropped $50s and $100s into the buckets. In addition, members were able to air spots on the local radio station advertising for both FBLA and for the March of Dimes. The chapter will continue to raise funds for the organization through WalkAmerica and other school-wide fundraisers.
